Post 1595. Sunday September 3

Sunday Photo Fiction

No kids, we’re not nearly there, now please let me concentrate.

Why do they drive on the wrong side of the road in France?  Everyone should drive on the left like us. No, Jane, I won’t stop moaning. It was a stupid idea bringing the car on the ferry instead of flying. It’s supposed to be a holiday. I should feel relaxed but look at me, I’m as tense as a tight rope.

I know Jane, it's a roundabout. Here we go. Keep right, right, right - woo - bloody foreigner nearly bashed into me! Imbécile!  Yes, Jane, I know I’m the foreigner here but they should treat us with respect. We're guests here.

No kids, we're not nearly there.

Stop telling me what to do Jane, or you I'll make you drive. That’s better.

Hey, you wait there chum, it’s my right of way. Oh, lordy lordy it's not - eeeek....!  Missed. Désolé monsieur.

No kids, we’re not nearly there.

Oh no, he’s heading straight towards us in the wrong lane! Regarde où vous allez!  No, I’m wrong  – hold tight kids - ooh ooh ooh  - phew! Right, next time we drive abroad Jane I'm hiring a tank!

No kids, we are not nearly there!

  5. Thank you for the laugh. I remember those long trips with my three boys. They were definitely NOT vacations.

    1. I still drive in France regularly and I often see British drivers who are clearly in panic mode! Last year my brand new car was written off there by a crazy French driver so it goes both ways!

  9. Haha. Very nicely done. P.s I finally worked out how to post comments on your blog - it doesn't accept my Wordpress account for some reason, so apologies for my lack of responses over the past weeks!

  11. Haha! Even driving in my native country, considering all the terrible drivers out there, I'd still like to have a tank! Funny one. :)
