Post 1545. Sunday June 11

The Sunday Whirl

Come on shadow, keep up. I know you feel wet and smelly. I do too, but I didn't deliberately walk in that puddle of rancid water and splash you, so stop your moaning.

Don't whisper, I can't hear you. What did you say? You want to hold my hand? You can't because you are down on the ground and I'm up here. I'll be able to touch you when we reach that wall, OK?

Why do you keep stop-pin? (groan). Don't drag my feet like that. At this rate it'll be a miracle if we make it home by m-ignite (sorry about that!)  I know you are tired, I am too.

Where have you gone now? For goodness sake stop messing around. There you are. Don't ripple like that, it's not funny. I don't want you putting me in a trance again, you know it makes me feel odd within (clumsy but it used up a word!). Anyway, I am supposed to be in charge, not you.

Now for goodness sake, come on.

For The Sunday Whirl where the given words are miracle, water, within, touch, walk, whisper, shadow, trance, rancid, ripple, ignite and pin. I kinda' used them all!

  1. Hi Keith - I was walking behind a little boy yesterday with my shadow out in front ... encompassing him at times ... he was befuddled and then suddenly realised - a big smile followed ... shadows are entrancing - whether ours, or around things ... not much around today so far ... though the moon was excellent above the Channel... cheers and happy Sunday - Hilary

    1. I've always been fascinated by shadows and the patterns they create. Not so keen on this little devil though!

  2. Tsk - I like your word play - and exercise is overrated

    1. Nothing like a bit of word play now and again as I'm sure you know!

  3. Curiously talking to yourself or your shadow in this case probably makes the jourey go quicker as it would if you had company on the walk (as you did of course). I can remember being fascinated with my shadow as a child probably because it was taller than me!

    1. Unfortunately this shadow was doing everything it could to hold me up!

  4. Effectively used, indeed! I giggled at the mignite.
