The Sunday Whirl (2)

A cat wandered into my apartment the other day, and no matter how often I sent it away it kept coming back. Don’t laugh, it’s not funny. I mean, why on earth did it choose me? If cats are so clever, how come it doesn’t know I have a deep dislike of like them? Dogs, masters, cats, servants and all that.

My friends think it’s hilarious. Let it sit on your lap they say. No I say. Take it for a walk on a lead they say. No I say, I’d feel a right clot!

It asked for some milk the other day. I didn’t have any so I gave it a bowl of that Yakult stuff instead. It lapped it up then went hyper! Jumping, climbing the walls, somersaulting. Ok, that last part’s pure fiction, but it did send it a bit do-lally! I’ll try giving it that cream liqueur stuff next! Baileys, that’s it.

Anyway, meeow for now!

For the second of this week's The Sunday Whirl we were the given words cat, friends, lead, choose, laugh, yakult, clot, earth, sit, deep, fiction and them.

  1. The cat wants something you have I expect Keith but I'm pretty sure it is not Bailey's.

  2. The cat is attracted by availability of food. It is not bothered by our dislike of its presence, obviuosly!

  3. There is truth in this fictitious story, cats tend to be drawn to people who really don't like cats, it's as if they have an assignment to try to change their minds! I have four sweet furkids, two of they enjoy a catnip party very much and act very silly afterwards, one falls asleep and the other ignores the stuff entirely.

  4. Cats are intrigued by the warped psychology of those who do not pay them the deference they know is automatically due to them.

  5. Cats do have a way of taking over a place. I should know.
