Sunday's Whirligig

Posted Saturday October 29

When I was cheffing for a living I would sometimes come across someone who wouldn't eat spring lamb because they looked so cute.

Well, my middle name is Ivor. Perfect for me especially if you stick and ‘e’ on the end because I am an ivore of the omni variety!  Carn, herb, insect even. I’d rather eat cricket than play it.  I’ll eat anything you care to feed me. Chew it, suck on it or simply swallow it! If you don’t like it spit it out, but at least give it a try. Spiders, sheep testicles, maggots, monkey’s eyes; you name it, I’ve tried it.

Actually, I told a little lie. I don’t eat everything because I don’t like marzipan. It has the same effect on me as my teacher used to when he scratched the blackboard with his fingernails. Brrrrr. I’m shivering at just the thought of it!

Oh, and my middle name’s not really Ivor. Authoristic license you know.

*Some delicacies I photographed and enjoyed in China!

Written for Sunday's Whirligig where this week's odd assortment words is - insectivores, carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, lamb, feed, suck, chew, spring, anything, know and sometimes.

  1. I love adventurous sorts! I would probably try most anything IF it looked appetizing, and wasn't moving!! I don't care so much what it is as how it tastes. Too slimy or too chewy is definitely out. But I know a lot of folks who won't try anything new and I think they are missing out on some great experiences!

I am always amazed at how you are so adept at weaving all those words into a readable, believable story that doesn't seem contrived!
