A Sunday Twosome!

Where there's will....

This week's words at Sunday's Whirligig are daughter, rocking, words, wooden, needing, beneath, halfway, slapping, glass, seams, breathing and crisp. I used most of them.

'Each day she visits me. She’s a wonderful daughter.

I changed my will yesterday. I've left her everything; after all, the others don't deserve it and I certainly won’t be needing it!

She’s just brought me my daily glass of warm milk and my tablets. They are a different colour from my usual ones. She said the doctor changed them'

The old wooden rocking chair creaks beneath him as she gently sways him to and fro. His breathing slows. He starts to say something, but halfway the words fade and he drifts off.

She won't need to visit any more. A smile spreads across her face.

Cribbing can be useful!

At Sunday Scribblings 2 the given word is crib.

She was always the quiet one in class. Never stuck her hand up with an answer, and never seemed to know the answer to questions asked of her by the teachers. Yet although she came over as academically challenged, she managed to do well in exams.

What was her secret? Well, she would crib!
Now in examination situations most children write with a pen in one hand, whilst the other hand cups around what they are writing thereby concealing it. However, my friend developed a skill whereby she could watch the end of her neighbour pen as it moved around and actually make out what they were writing. As she always managed to position herself close to the class geniuses, this talent ensured that her results often equalled those of the clever-dicks.

I only mention this because last week we managed to come second in the pub quiz without actually knowing many of the answers. My friend Rosey has her uses!

  2. Rosey will be cross you have revealed her secret in your crib post. Meanwhile the daughter assured of the inheritance makes sure he doesn't change his mind proving that it is best to spend it all before you go!

    1. I can't imagine Rosey being that cruel. Mind you, last night she inadvertently called me Dad, and that drink she gave me did make me a little giddy!

    1. Now that would be a good skill to have.

Sadly, there are daughters in the world just like the one in your story.

    2. Fortunately my two are not at all like that - at least, I don't think so!

  5. Oh dear...the bodies are not yet cold and the family starts to war over the will. Yours is the best idea...just have photos to leave and there is no conflict and probably no visits either LOL
