Enjoyed a night at the opera
My mother loves opera but doesn't like going to the theatre on her own. About a year ago she asked me to go to La Boheme with her. Having
never been to an opera, when I took my seat was I somewhat apprehensive. By the
time I left I was converted! Later in the year we went to Madama Butterfly.
Last Tuesday we had the best seats in the house for La Traviata.
In September it will be Carmen followed by Tosca, and
this time next year Die Fledermaus. I’m hooked!
La Boheme converted me, too, though I've only had the opportunity to go once since.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! Some people think I'm weird because I like Italian opera...and I don't speak Italian! LOL Just something intriguing about it.
ReplyDeleteNor do I Jessy - thank goodness for the subtitle screen above the stage! Actually I think Italian is a beautiful language to listen to even you don't understand a word that's being said!
DeleteOne of my daughters loves opera, but the "bug" hasn't bitten me yet!
ReplyDeleteLove the opera as well as musicals!
ReplyDeletegood for you! Happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteI have only been a couple of times, but loved what I saw. Glad your mum got you hooked.

ReplyDeleteI have never been to the Opera...but would someday love to attend one. I am glad that your mom helped you find a new pleasure!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
I've never been to an opera live but watching them on tv or online is a treat. I bet it's more fun live. Good for you for having seen its beauty up close.
