I'm watching you!

This week one of the prompts on Matinee Muse is 'the spy in me'.

Wouldn’t it be fun to be a spy! I often imagine myself sitting at a cafe table reading a newspaper with two holes cut in it for my eyes to peep through. Or standing facing a shop window watching the reflection of someone on the other side of the road. What fun it would be to wear a false beard and moustache or pop a wig on my head! And I could have one of those big magnifying glasses!

I could listen in to people’s phone calls and intercept their mail. I could make phone calls with a handkerchief over the mouthpiece, and put on foreign accents. I’d have a little camera in my collar and a tape recorder in my hat!

Wouldn’t it be great to hide in wardrobes and under beds; see what people are getting up to and listen to secret conversations?

I can see myself disguised as a cleaner and searching through filing cabinets in closed offices. I’d take photos of secret documents and take down numbers and addresses.

One day I’d pretend to be a chauffeur and another butler. I might even dress as a woman!
.But it’s never going to happen. It’s fun to imagine though. I guess there’s always been something of the spy in me!

  5. That's seem really interesting, Keith!

The many possible disguises you mentioned are appealing and stir my imagination. It's amusing to reaize that somewhere in our fantasy are things we woud be interested to do and we know would never do.

    I wish you well.

  8. I'm not coordinated enough to be a spy. I love James Bond movies, but I never would have survived the first attempt at my demise.
