Sunday Photo Fiction

Posted Sunday October 30

Johnny was a big boy now, old enough to go out with his friends on Halloween night.

‘Can I go too?’ pleaded Felicity. ‘Pleeease? I want to knock on doors and get some sweets’

Maybe next year Flic, when you are a little bit older. Johnny'll share some of his if you ask him nicely, won’t you Johnny?

Johnny pulled a disapproving face!

 *
‘Mummy Mummy’ yelled an excited Felicity as she rushed through the kitchen door. She was clutching a soft toy; a Halloween doll.

Where did you get that Flic?

‘In the garden Mummy, by the shed. Can I keep him?’

*

It was bedtime and Felicity placed the doll on the table beside her bed. She climbed between the sheets and closed her eyes.

‘Trick or treat?’ it whispered.

‘Treats please, lots!’ said Felicity as she turned over and drifted off to sleep.

*

‘Wakey wakey Flic’ called her Father as he pushed open her bedroom door.

‘What’s that?’ he asked pointing to her bedside table.

‘My Halloween dolly’ said Felicity rubbing her eyes.

‘What doll Flic? No, that’

On the table sat a pile of sweets and chocolates. The doll was nowhere to be seen.

  3. It's both a treat and a trick. Once she has eaten all of those sweets and chocolates, she will be headed off to the dentist to have all of her teeth pulled.

    1. Yes, but sweets and chockies are far nicer than boring old fruit! Thanks for the photo.

  5. Sweet and somehow also creepy. Very Halloween. Hey, I found your travelogue about Cambodia. It's one of my favoritemost places ever to have visited, and you've done it up so well... methinks I'm gonna have to work up a post about my time there and link yours into it. Pls let me know if that's something to which you would object.

    1. That would be awesome Eugene. It was an emotional roller-coaster of a place and I'd love to read your perspective on it.
