The Sunday Whirl

Posted Sunday May 1

The A-Z Challenge ended yesterday and it’s time to resume normality. Over 1900 of us started out and around 1350 made it to the end.  It was a great experience, and I’ve made many new contacts around the world. During the process, my blog's hit rate increased 5-fold. I can’t wait for April 2017!

This week's given words are:-  grace, join, yearning, silken, any, fire, eggs, moment, skin, cell, light and boundless . I have used all but one.

I didn’t like my name, Grace. So I’m now called Maizie because I’m amazing - amazing Grace, get it? Graces wear silken dresses, have alabaster skin, a coy smile and yearn for a life of boundless opulence and high society. Me? Torn jeans, ruddy cheeks and a wicked grin! I prefer fried eggs to slimy black fish eggs, beer to Bordeaux, and heavy metal to Wolfie Mozart! I’d rather join the Hells Angels than the Women’s Institute and I’ll take whatever life fires at me.

Anyway, I’m going outside for a moment or two to have a ciggie; got a light anyone?

.

  1. I am so ready for blogging to return to normal. I love the challenge, but it does wear me out. =)

Hello Mazie. Put down the cigarettes, they're bad for you. Killed a few of my family members. =(

    1. I'm a feeling Mazie is the kind gal that will do the opposite of anything she is advised to do. Meanwhile back in the real world is blogging business as usual!

    1. We did indeed Kathe! No rest for the wicked though - I've got heaps of prompt sites that I normally contribute to and I've had to neglect them during April. I was getting withdrawal symptoms!

  3. Hey there :) found your site yesterday, a bit late I know but I think you got some interesting content, very unique. Congrats on completing the challenge. Mazie sounds like a friend I knew back in high school.

  4. Hey Mazie, mind if I join you for that cig? I'm an old woman, still wear jeans but they are the stretch type. Hair is cropped short for ease and comfort and you so remind me of someone I was a long, long time ago...

  5. Mazie is at an age when she wants to be different, be herself and like all those that feel this way will be a rebel and a twin to all the others her age growing up...just like me (and maybe you Keith) all those years ago.

    1. Being a rebel is an important part of growing up - it gives you an alternative view of life.

  7. Good story, Keith.
I'm happy to relax back into my once a week blog post (which will be up later this week).
Although I thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing my A-Z challenge posts, I did find visiting so many blogs every day very time consuming and it's not something I could possibly contemplate on a permanent basis.
Anyway, it was great to find your blog, Keith, and I shall look forward to reading more of your stories. :)

  10. I am right into the next challenge (German Poetry project translations and A Story A Day May). Looks like I'm blogging crazy. Gone nuts entirely now :-). Never mind. One needs an addiction I assume ;-). Nice to meet you Mazie :-)
