Victory

It's Day 22 of  the Blogging from A to Z  April 2015 Challenge

Tapering shafts of glinting steel, not one, not two but three missiles ready to take flight. One man alone has the task of sending them on their way. He is but seconds away from victory over the foe.

Beads of sweat glisten on his brow. All eyes focus on his hand as he raises it aloft, about to do what only he can do. Total silence.

The first, the second and third are launched and seek their target; flying toward their final destination they pierce the air with deadly accuracy.

The target met, the battle won. The assembled crowd salutes its hero.

'One hundred and eighty' yells the compere. There's nothing quite like a game of darts.

With no A-Z tomorrow I will be having a go at Sunday's Wirligig with a chiller called The Violinist.

I feel a silly poem coming on so Monday's offering is called If I was a Worm

  6. Love the 'twist' at the end of this one. And, don't ever put a dart in my hand and stand anywhere in front of me... ;-)

    Enjoyed this immensely!

  11. LOL. My husband and my sons play darts all the time. They all think they're the best. They probably would have known what was going on there before I did.
