You are right Joyce. As well as Guy Fawkes, Lewes also remembers the 17 prodestant martyrs who were burnt on crosses in 1555 in front of the Star Inn which is where I took the photo.
Remember, remember the 5th of November, of gunpowder, treason and plot.
