A DIARY - PART 7

It’s hard to believe that just a couple of months ago we were suffering a severe drought here in the south east of England. You may recall the photos I posted of the empty lakes and streams in the park. At the time it it seemed highly unlikely that just a few weeks on we would be able to jump in a rowing boat in a newly opened boating lake!

Over the past six months I've been reporting on the extensive works going on in the park. At last it's all finished and the good folk of Bexhill-on-Sea were recently treated to a Party in the Park to celebrate and officially open the new facilities. There were magicians, musicians, face painters, craft workshops and of course that sea-side favourite, Punch and Judy!

Midway through the day came the main event. As the fences were pulled away from the Kidzone, hundreds of children stampeded towards the brand new equipment.

The new refreshment kiosk was an immediate hit as was the boating lake.

So, was it a million pounds well spent? It looks like it was!

  1. Looks like a great park to visit. I will have sneak into the play area on a school day to try out some of the equipment. Better still bring my granddaughter.
