wings of change

He changed. Not by a little, the change was dramatic. We’d watched him, sloth like, as he moved slowly from place to place seemingly unaware of the world around him. His dull grey appearance blending into his surroundings, you hardly even notice him.

Then he disappeared for a while. We don't know where he went. But when he returned he'd changed beyond all recognition. He shed his coat of grey, and instead of skulking in the shadows, he basked in the warmth of the sun. You couldn’t help but notice him as he outshone everything around him.

Then with a gentle stroke of his multicoloured wings he rose into the sky and danced among the sunbeams. The change was complete.

  1. Butterflies are a symbol to which everyone can relate. I hope my rainbow race of Americans will now soar, although realistically I think there will a long hard road ahead (to mix metaphors).

  12. So awesome love the way you took us through from the early not so good looking stages to the freedom and beauty of the butterflies first flight.
