It's a small world

You are probably thinking ‘wow, what a beautiful room!’ Well, if I was to tell you that the piece of furniture in the middle is not much bigger than a cigarette packet you’d be pretty surprised!
.
The piece is in fact a model of a priceless bureau housed in the Palace of Versaise France. The model is an exact replica, and according to a website which I just came across ‘experts consider the Bureau Du Roi the finest piece of miniature furniture in the world’.
'
And guess what? My Dad made it! Right down to the miniature screws which he made with the right number of turns, and the mechanism which unrolls the lid. Remarkably, turning the tiny key automatically rolls the top back and simultaneously unlocks all the drawers.
'
This is just one of many models he made and a lot more can be seen if you click here.
'
I hope you enjoy your visit!
