Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers
Not everybody sees her. I do, often. Up there, in that window. When I look into her eyes, she gazes into mine. She reads my thoughts, knows my mood, understands me. Sometimes there is a hint of a smile, sometimes a sorrowful demeanour. Often she cheers me, encourages me; helps me. She laughs with me, sheds a tear with me. I think I cheer her too, I hope so.
Who she is, or who she once was I know not. Why some can see her and others not, is a mystery. I don’t imagine her. I don’t. We are soulmates. We need each other.
There she is again. Up there, in that window. Up there. Do you see her?
Oh wow, my senses are at fully alert...... of course I can't see her, but can you see the lady in the rocking chair at that empty house on the corner?
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Creepy!
DeleteA clever take on this prompt. I am sure most of FF-participants would now be trying to find her in one of the windows.
ReplyDeleteI should have photoshoped a face! Cheers.
DeleteGreat story Keith! I love how you interjected the mystery of is she really there or not? Nice!!
ReplyDeleteOh, she's there alright!
DeleteThat's a great take on this image Keith, so well done you had me looking.
ReplyDeleteCaught you! Thanks Michael
DeleteHow lovely. I think I see her too.
ReplyDeleteI was beginning to think it was just me! Cheers Inky.
DeleteOh! Simply love this! I often get antsy reading this short flash fiction stuff because so often it seems like there's a good story behind it waiting to be told. :)
ReplyDeleteThe problem is finding it! Thanks so much Calen~
DeleteHave faith, bro!
DeleteYour shorts are amazingly complete, so take pride. ~grin~ Happy Writing!
DeleteI'm curious now to see if I can catch a glimpse of her. Well done.

This is like standing in the street pointing up, and watching other people do the same! Thanks.
