One of my favourite nights of the year. Thanks Susan
The pictures are nice. But what is 5th of November?
DeeDee, on November 5 1605 Guy Fawkes unsuccessfully attempted to blow up the British Houses of Parliament. We remember it each year in our gardens, on village greens and on the streets of towns with bonfires and fireworks.
...I know of no reason why Gunpowder TreasonShould ever be forgot.

Looks fantastic! Bexhill-on-Sea? That makes me nostalgic for the great Guy Fawkes celebrations in Lewes I would often attend as a nipper.
Yep, that's where I live! I usually visit Lewes - as you know it's the biggest Guy Fawkes event by far in the UK. This year the trains went on strike, so 'only' 80,000 made it to little Lewes town - along with lots of armed police!
Great shots. Thanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/11/a-dream-of-lifetime.html
Thanks so much

I did too!
The fireworks are beautiful.
Aren't they just?
Beautiful fireworks! Of course, being American, I know little about the reason behind this celebration. Off to find out a bit.https://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2016/11/cactus-bloom.html
It's a huge night all over the UK! Thanks for dropping by - and by the way, I loved your cactus picture!
