I’m usually quite adventurous when I go on holiday. Being a lone traveller means I have the luxury of going where I want, and do what I want whenever I want without discussion or compromise.
But I need a rest. To put it bluntly, I’m knackered! So I’ve decided to play it safe and head off to somewhere I’ve been before. That way there’s no risk of making a bad choice. As I’ve been before I am bound to spend more time relaxing rather than my normal pursuit of rushing hither and thither seeing as many sights I can in a few days.
So I’m going to Samos, a little Greek island in the Aegean Sea just a mile or so off the Turkish coast.
Friends who have been with me on this site from day one will probably remember that one of my first posts here was on my previous visit to Samos. That was in the days when I thought that a couple of thousand words were about the right length for a post! I soon learned otherwise! And back then I hadn’t unravelled the mysteries of including photos in my pieces. So this time I’m going to bring back more of a pictorial record of my trip rather than a lengthy tome as before!
If I come across an internet cafe I may just take a look at Writers Island or Sunday Scribblings, but if I don’t, then its farewell for 8 days, and make sure you all behave yourselves in my absence!
