and......relax!

This week's motley collection of words from Sunday's Whirligig are:-

parking, wrathful, prance, shady, bathe, loll, posts, deep, dialing, shattering and drifting.

I've had a bad day. I got into an argument over a parking place, my ice cream got knocked from my hand by a prancing puppy, I trapped one of my fingers in my car door and dropped my phone whilst dialing the wrong number.

The 'dead certainty' horse I backed still hasn't reached the finishing post (thanks a bunch Alf) and I dropped my beer in the pub shattering glass all over the floor. Then I accused my friend Rosey of shady dealings during the pub quiz (she was Googling for answers!) which resulted in a wrathful reaction and a punch on the nose!

Only one thing for it. I’ll run comforting bath, light some candles, loll in the deep foaming water and sip malt whisky from a crystal glass. I’ll listen to some soothing Beethoven and watch my real best friend drifting between the bubbles.

At least I know my little rubber duck will always be there to soothe my weary soul.

  1. Oh, Rosey, I'm disappointed in you. ~grin~ The "real best friend" cracked me up. Well done!

  2. I beg your pardon? I only slightly googled one answer and it was just a playful tap on the nose - you know it bleeds easily. Your rubber duck can buy you drinks in the pub in future!

  3. Now I am thinking of that Bert and Ernie song - 'Rubber Duckie, you're the one, You make bath time lots of fun, Rubber Duckie, I'm awfully fond of you'..perfectly innocent i'm sure..a-hem..

    1. Rubber Duckie, joy of joys,
When I squeeze you, you make noise!
Rubber Duckie, you're my very best friend, it's true!

  4. Rosey is capable of punching people's noses? Oh, my!

On another note: Even though this is a "motley collection of words," you seem to have had great fun with them.

    1. Perhaps I did slightly exaggerate Roseys outburst! But a punch sounds more interesting than a tap!

  6. I am glad Rosey stood up for herself. Just be careful of that crystal glass in the bath.

  7. This reminds me of that quote by Sylvia Plath: "“There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them.”
