keith.. I went thru the same thing 30 years ago. Your poem brought it all back. that's ok, good poetry will always make someone reflect. There is no magic elixir to cure the pain, just time courage and the knowledge that you can win
There's is such a child-like feel in how this poem was written, and that made this poem even more piercing to every heart who understands how it is to love and be broken.

This really makes me think of the phrase 'tomorrow never comes' - it always does of course - sometimes it just takes a bit longer.

ReplyDeleteLike fireworks, hot and bright and flashy but quick to die.
This was an excellent example of tht kind of love.
Sad.
Sad that some relationships end so abruptly. You've captured both the beginnings and endings well. Have a great night.
