.
Eleven thousand four hundred and six miles
separate us
A friend I’ve never seen nor spoken to
yet know so well
I fill my glass with wine of richest red
and raise it
in the hope that she is thinking of me
and raising hers too
I dream of the day we finally meet
Crazy I know
Eleven thousand four hundred and six miles
so far to go

Happy birthday Karen!

Wow you made a wonderful posting and poem for our common friend Karen. She will be happy if she reads it but I think she is now sleeping.
ReplyDeleteYes often we find a great net friend .. a good friend .. never knowing if we will ever meet . And though some where along the way we know that it will not alter the friendship , this not meeting, but we do so keep hoping to meet him/her .
ReplyDeleteA lovely birthday wish :)
Keith, you have read the poem about the 39 yr old who died of brain tumor . May I request you to read the other side of the coin .. her husband's point of view . Though a little late in the week I thought I would post that for the Writer's Island prompt of :"Survivor"
Thank you once again for stopping by.
