From her small balcony, the witch watched the world go by. She hadn’t flown anywhere for a while, spending most of her time reading her witchionary of spelling.
Willamena led a lonely life. Most of her friends had settled down with warlocks, and many now had little ones. Perhaps it was time to find herself a partner. She wondered which way to go about it.
When she was young, she used to frequent her local pub, The Cauldron and enjoy brews and potions with her mates. That was probably the place to start.
She straightened the point on her hat, shook the dust from her favourite gown and after casting a spell or two she set off on her trusty broomstick.
I’m pleased to report that she was successful. The first person she came across was an old flame, Walter who was on a similar mission.
From their small balcony, the witch, her warlock and witchling William watch the world go by......

DeleteI am having trouble leaving comments through Wordpress and I did leave one earlier. So here goes again. I am glad that Willemina decided to return to the Cauldron and found Walter, sweet and romantic. I hope they live witchingly everafter. :)
ReplyDeleteAll these witches must be messing around with our blogs! Thanks so much for your kind words and for persevering.
DeleteI always love a happy ending :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! There's enough misery around without me adding to it.
DeleteSweet story! I like the repetition at the end, with the addition of her new family. I also like the play on words with "witchionary of spelling" as opposed to "dictionary of spelling(s)" - clever :-)
