Pevensey Marsh

I have stayed close to my home for this week's Wordless Wednesday. These pictures depict some of the numerous ditches (known as dykes) which criss-cross Pevensey Marsh on the East Sussex coast, a large wetland and grazing pasture which once formed the seabed.

  7. If I didn't know what your ditches are at first glance it looks like a creek. Are you familiar with that term? After consulting the dictionary, a dike and creek sound very alike. I'm not sure of the differences, if any. Oh well...the lush green English landscape, tall golden grass, and weathered fence along the dike is totally picturesque. What a beautiful place to photograph! Happy #WW!

  11. just gorgeous!! I was down in the ditches too - but there was no water so I went for the close ups, instead of the wide angles.
