It's Dark Tonight

'
.
It's so very dark tonight
Ican’t see very far.

Look the moon is tilting back,

to catch a falling star!
'
,
'Something’s flutt'ring up above

A bat as brown as mud.

Wow!Too close for comfort

I'm keeping all my blood!
.
.
Hey, look a shooting star up there
flying without sound

I wonder where it shot from

and where they hit the ground?.

.

' Can you see that moth there? ....

Hovering by the light.

I wonder where he sleeps by day

He only flies at night.

,
.

Now come on stop that hiding,

darkness holds no fear.

Please don't try to scare me.

Ok, I'm outa here!

''.
let me read it to you!

  4. I, too, love the imagery of the moon. It's a great piece, and pretty much exactly how I feel about night! I love the moon and stars. Bats and dark? Not so much.

  5. That's so unusual to be able to hear the poet reading his own verses. Very nice!
I'm really loving the Easter Egg on the banner.

  8. The elements of the mystical moon and the dreamy stars worked beautifully in this whimsical piece using an endearing child-like voice.

I am silenced under the magic spell of your words.

    I wish you well.

  10. ` Nice poem, Rambling Keith! That must be nice, having a dark night away from the city....

` Don't worry - bloodsucking bats (and moths) only live in South America, and they only attack you when you're asleep.
